5 Obama Ironies on ISIS Barack Obama addressed the United Nations today, as his poll numbers in America continue to slide. Perhaps it is because Obama has demonstrated why he can't be trusted. Here are five examples why.A brand new Reuters-Ipsos poll finds that only 35% of Americans approve of Obama's handling of the presidency. Conversely, 58% of Americans disapprove of Obama's job as president. These numbers are dangerously low as he begins to engage in airstrikes in Syria. Perhaps these numbers are because our president lacks credibility and trustworthiness. He often says one thing, but turns around and does another. Or it often feels like he's not being transparent and telling us the truth. Here are five recent ironies put forth by Obama as it relates to ISIS, which make us question his credibility. 1. Barack Obama eviscerated George W. Bush for going into Iraq; Barack Obama is now engaging in military action in Iraq AND Syria (a country Bush never went into). 2. Barack Obama has now engaged in military bombings in seven countries; George W. Bush only did so in four countries. 3. Just one month ago, Barack Obama said it was a “fantasy” to arm the Syrian rebels; now, arming the Syrian rebels is a cornerstone of his strategic plan to “defeat and destroy” ISIS. 4. In January Barack Obama referred to ISIS as the “JV team” of terrorist groups; now they pose such a strategic threat that we are bombing them in two countries. 5. Barack Obama cites Yemen as an example of America's war on terror being a success; what Obama doesn't tell you is how al Qaeda militants are flowing into and spreading throughout the country and Shiite rebels have just swept the country's capital. |
